Wow! Hard to believe this was 6 years ago!
2018 was a big caterpillar year when I worked in the Springfield area (and at home in Thompson). We lost a ton of oaks in the ArborActive forest. I was reminded of this interview when I was out working on the kids’ treehouse this afternoon and hear a familiar chewing and frass on our deck.
Will this be another big year for spongy (formerly gypsy) moth?
If you start to hear the tell-tale chewing or caterpillar frass, ask us about treatment options. We can currently treat in Massachusetts and should be expanding to CT by the end of the month. We specialize in tree injections, reducing the need for large insecticide treatments.
